PRN-001-05

PRN-001-05 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug being developed by Proniras Corporation for the treatment of epilepsy. It is an intravenous (IV) formulation of tezampanel, a competitive antagonist that selectively targets the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) and kainate subtypes of ionotropic glutamate receptors. By inhibiting these receptors, PRN-001-05 modulates excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system, which is a key driver of seizure activity. Proniras is leveraging this mechanism across several formulations and indications, including substance use disorders and acute central nervous system conditions.
