Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRO-302 is a preclinical-stage regenerative therapy developed by Prolifagen Therapeutics for the treatment of myocardial infarction and heart failure. The therapeutic consists of a microRNA-302 (miR-302) mimic encapsulated within a specialized hyaluronic acid-based hydrogel. This formulation is designed for sustained release over a period of 7 to 10 days following intramyocardial injection. The mechanism of action involves the delivery of miR-302 to damaged cardiomyocytes, where it inhibits the Hippo signaling pathway. By suppressing Hippo pathway activity, PRO-302 stimulates the proliferation of existing cardiomyocytes, promoting the regeneration of functional heart muscle and improving cardiac function after injury.
