Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRO CAR-201A is an autologous, unarmored CAR T cell therapy targeting the Six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate 1 (STEAP1). Developed by PromiCell and licensed from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, it is designed for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes STEAP1, a protein highly expressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells, leading to targeted tumor cell lysis. Initial clinical trial readouts for safety and efficacy are anticipated in mid-2025.
