Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRO CAR-201B is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the Six Transmembrane Epithelial Antigen of the Prostate 1 (STEAP1). Developed by PromiCell Therapeutics in collaboration with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, it is specifically designed for the treatment of Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone and soft tissue cancer primarily affecting children and young adults. STEAP1 is highly expressed in over 50% of Ewing Sarcoma cases, making it an ideal target for CAR T-cell therapy. The therapy utilizes the same construct as PRO CAR-201A, which is being developed for prostate cancer. As of 2024, PRO CAR-201B is in the IND-enabling phase, with an IND application expected in mid-2025.
