Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pro-Stride APS is a veterinary autologous orthobiologic product and point-of-care processing system developed by Zoetis for the treatment of osteoarthritis-associated joint inflammation, synovitis, and lameness in horses and dogs. It is not a conventional single-entity pharmaceutical; rather, it is prepared from the patient's own blood to generate an injectable autologous protein solution enriched in anti-inflammatory mediators such as interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein, together with platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors. The intended mechanism is modulation of inflammatory signaling within diseased joints, primarily by antagonizing interleukin-1 activity and also reducing downstream inflammatory cytokine effects such as tumor necrosis factor alpha signaling, with intra-articular administration used to improve pain and joint function.
