Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRO95780 + rituximab is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies used investigationally for the treatment of relapsed follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). **PRO95780** is a fully human affinity-matured IgG1 monoclonal antibody that promotes apoptosis by activating the Death Receptor 5 (DR5) pro-apoptotic pathway. When combined with **rituximab**, a chimeric anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, it was studied for its potential to enhance anti-tumor efficacy in patients who previously relapsed after rituximab treatment. The combination aimed to leverage the pro-apoptotic activity of PRO95780 with the established B-cell depleting and cytotoxic actions of rituximab. In phase II studies, this combination was generally well tolerated, but the objective response rate was similar to that of rituximab alone[2][4][5][7].
