Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProBeptigen (CMI-168) is a proprietary hydrolyzed chicken extract containing bioactive peptides derived from essence of chicken (EOC). It is developed as a cognitive enhancer and neuroprotective agent, primarily targeting age-related cognitive decline and stress-induced memory impairment. The extract functions by reducing systemic and neuroinflammation (evidenced by decreased high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels), mitigating oxidative stress in the hippocampus, and modulating neurotransmitter levels, such as increasing dopamine. Clinical trials in healthy middle-aged adults have demonstrated that CMI-168 supplementation improves verbal memory and spatial working memory, with effects persisting even after the termination of supplementation. It has also shown potential anti-aging effects in senescence-accelerated mouse models by promoting the antioxidant defense system and protecting against mitochondrial DNA damage.
