Overview

Probio is a probiotic dietary supplement developed and marketed by the Spanish pharmaceutical company Laboratorios Q Pharma. Often referred to by the name Biolactams, which represents its proprietary probiotic blend, the product is designed to restore and maintain a healthy balance of intestinal and vaginal microbiota. It typically contains live cultures of lactic acid bacteria, such as *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* and *Lactobacillus acidophilus*. These beneficial microorganisms work by colonizing mucosal surfaces, producing lactic acid to lower local pH, and competing with pathogenic bacteria and yeast for nutrients and adhesion sites. Probio is primarily indicated for individuals experiencing dysbiosis, particularly following antibiotic therapy or during periods of physiological stress that disrupt the natural flora.
