Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Probioflor is a line of probiotic products developed and manufactured by the Russian biotechnology company AO Vector-BiAlgam. The product line includes specific formulations such as Probioflor-L, which contains *Lactobacillus plantarum* and *Lactobacillus fermentum*, and Probioflor-B, which contains *Bifidobacterium bifidum*. These probiotics are designed to restore and maintain the balance of the intestinal microflora by introducing high concentrations of live, antagonistic bacteria. They function by competing with pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms for nutrients and adhesion sites, producing antimicrobial metabolites like lactic acid and bacteriocins, and modulating the host's mucosal immune system. Probioflor is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of dysbiosis, recovery after antibiotic therapy, and the management of various gastrointestinal disturbances. It is registered in Russia as a biologically active additive (BAA).
