Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProbioSEB CSC3 is a synbiotic dietary supplement developed and manufactured by Specialty Enzymes & Probiotics. It is a shelf-stable blend consisting of three specific, spore-forming Bacillus species: *Bacillus coagulans* LBSC (SEBiotic), *Bacillus subtilis* PLSSC (SEBtilis), and *Bacillus clausii* 088AE (SEBclausii), combined with the prebiotic fructooligosaccharide (FOS). [10, 12, 14] The modality is a biologic probiotic complex that works by supporting the balance of the gut microbiome and modulating immune function, rather than targeting a specific molecular pathway like traditional drugs. [13] The spore-forming nature of the bacteria protects them through the acidic environment of the stomach, allowing them to colonize the intestines where they support homeostasis. [8] Clinical studies have evaluated ProbioSEB CSC3 for its role in managing symptoms related to upper respiratory tract infections, COVID-19, and post-COVID-19 fatigue, often in combination with an enzyme complex called ImmunoSEB. [2, 9] It is also marketed for supporting metabolic health, weight management, and for individuals taking GLP-1 agonists. [3]
