Probiotic combination I is an investigational oral probiotic formulation developed by Tervisetehnoloogiate Arenduskeskus AS (Competence Centre on Health Technologies) in Estonia. It is specifically designed for the management of vaginal discharge disturbances, including bacterial vaginosis and vaginal candidiasis. The combination consists of specific strains of *Lactobacillus crispatus* and *Lactobacillus gasseri* (specifically strains CCHT71 and CCHT72). The mechanism of action involves the restoration of a healthy vaginal microbiota by promoting *Lactobacillus* dominance, which inhibits the growth of pathogens like *Gardnerella vaginalis* and *Candida* species through the production of lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and antimicrobial biosurfactants. It was evaluated in a randomized clinical trial (NCT04151589) to assess its efficacy in improving clinical and microbiological outcomes in women with vaginal dysbiosis.
