Probiotic L9 is a specific probiotic strain under investigation for its therapeutic potential in various conditions, including Alzheimer's disease and inflammatory bowel disease (colitis). In the context of Alzheimer's disease, it has demonstrated a mitigating role by modulating the intestinal microbiome's taxonomic composition, reducing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria, and inhibiting the phosphorylation of Tau protein and the deposition of Amyloid-beta (Aβ) proteins.
