Overview

Probiotic lactobacilli (Melbourne Health) refers to a probiotic intervention consisting of specific Lactobacillus strains, including *Lactobacillus fermentum* VRI-003 and *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, investigated by Melbourne Health (Royal Melbourne Hospital) for the prevention of nosocomial pneumonia. Administered through enteral feeding to critically ill adult patients, these live biotherapeutic products are intended to modulate the gastrointestinal and respiratory microbiota.
