Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Probiotic Pur is a multi-strain probiotic dietary supplement that was evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial led by Yuzuncu Yil University for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in children. The formulation consists of four specific bacterial strains: *Bifidobacterium bifidum*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus casei*, and *Lactobacillus salivarius*. The supplement is intended to modulate the gut-skin axis and immune response to alleviate symptoms of medium-to-heavy atopic dermatitis. Clinical study results indicated that the probiotic was effective in reducing SCORAD (Scoring Atopic Dermatitis) index levels in pediatric patients, although it did not significantly impact other immunological markers such as serum cytokines (IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, IFN-γ), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), or total and specific IgE levels.
