Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProClear + Optifree RepleniSH is a combination of ProClear contact lenses and Optifree RepleniSH multi-purpose disinfecting solution (MPDS). ProClear lenses are manufactured from omafilcon A, a hydrogel material that incorporates phosphorylcholine (PC) technology to enhance biocompatibility and water retention, mimicking the natural cell membrane to reduce protein and lipid deposition. Optifree RepleniSH is a solution designed for cleaning, reconditioning, and disinfecting soft contact lenses. It features the TearGlyde reconditioning system, which utilizes surfactants like TETRONIC 1304 and C9-ED3A to maintain a moisture layer on the lens surface, alongside the antimicrobial agents POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) and ALDOX (myristamidopropyl dimethylamine). This specific combination was evaluated in clinical research conducted by the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University to assess its impact on human corneal barrier function, specifically measuring epithelial permeability to sodium fluorescein compared to other lens and solution pairings.
