Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProClear Lens Material + Optifree RepleniSH Multipurpose Solution is a combination of a soft contact lens (ProClear, composed of omafilcon A) and a multipurpose disinfecting solution (Opti-Free RepleniSH). This combination was evaluated in clinical research (NCT00560898) to determine its impact on the corneal epithelial barrier function in adapted contact lens wearers. Opti-Free RepleniSH is an ophthalmic solution manufactured by Alcon that utilizes polyquaternium-1 (Polyquad) and myristamidopropyl dimethylamine (Aldox) as antimicrobial agents to clean, disinfect, and store soft contact lenses. The ProClear lens is a hydrogel lens manufactured by CooperVision, known for its biocompatibility. The primary focus of the clinical investigation was to measure the penetration of sodium fluorescein into the cornea to assess the integrity of tight junctions in the corneal epithelium after lens wear.
