Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PROClearz is a brand of over-the-counter (OTC) topical antifungal products developed and marketed by Rooftop Consumer Health for the treatment of nail and skin fungal infections, including onychomycosis, tinea pedis (athlete's foot), and tinea corporis (ringworm). The PROClearz product line includes various formulations, such as liquids and brush-on pens, which utilize either tolnaftate (1%) or undecylenic acid (25%) as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Tolnaftate is a synthetic thiocarbamate that acts by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase (squalene monooxygenase), a key step in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which is essential for fungal cell membrane integrity. Undecylenic acid is a fatty acid that acts as a fungistatic agent, disrupting fungal growth and membrane function. These products are intended for topical application to the affected nail area and surrounding skin to eliminate fungal pathogens and manage symptoms associated with nail fungal conditions.
