Overview
Prodefen GG drops is a 7-multistrain synbiotic product developed by ITF Research Pharma (a subsidiary of Grupo Italfarmaco) for use in infants and young children. The formulation includes seven probiotic strains—most notably *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* GG (LGG)—alongside a prebiotic component, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS). As a synbiotic, it is designed to restore and maintain a healthy gut microbiome. The product has been clinically evaluated in the PRODINFANT trial, a multicenter, randomized, open-label study investigating its efficacy as an adjunct to supportive therapy for acute diarrhea of probable viral etiology in pediatric populations.
