Overview
Profhilo Haenkenium is a topical antioxidant and hydrating cream developed by IBSA Farmaceutici. It features a synergistic combination of a dual-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid complex (containing both high and low molecular weight sodium hyaluronate) and Haenkenium, a patented extract from *Salvia haenkei*. The Haenkenium component acts as a potent antioxidant that protects skin cells from oxidative stress and premature cellular senescence while inhibiting the enzymatic degradation of hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid complex provides deep hydration and supports the skin's hydrolipidic film and extracellular matrix. While primarily marketed as a cosmeceutical for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging, it is also being investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of atopic dermatitis symptoms in adults.
