**Progesterone + aspirin** is a combination therapy consisting of the hormone progesterone and the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aspirin. This combination is primarily explored for its potential to prevent pregnancy complications, especially in women at risk of recurrent pregnancy loss and preeclampsia. Progesterone acts via the progesterone receptor to support endometrial receptivity and modulate immune tolerance essential for pregnancy maintenance. Aspirin inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, resulting in reduced thromboxane and prostaglandin synthesis, thus exerting anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet, and antithrombotic effects. Combined, they have been shown *in vitro* to stimulate trophoblast proliferation, enhance invasion, upregulate progesterone receptor expression, and reduce apoptosis mediated by oxidative stress, potentially improving placental function. Although each is individually used in obstetric care, co-administration is being investigated for synergistic effects in reducing miscarriage risk and improving pregnancy outcomes[1][2][4].
