ProGly-AChR is a preclinical-stage, non-standard amino acid (NSAA)-engineered protein being developed by GRObio for the treatment of myasthenia gravis. Utilizing the proprietary ProGly platform, the drug consists of an acetylcholine receptor (AChR) protein modified with NSAAs to enable the site-specific attachment of glycans. These glycans are designed to engage specific receptors on antigen-presenting cells to induce regulatory T cells (Tregs), thereby promoting immunological tolerance to the AChR autoantigen. This mechanism aims to selectively suppress the pathogenic autoimmune response in myasthenia gravis patients without the side effects associated with broad immunosuppression.
