Overview

**Programmed cell death protein 1-targeting chimeric antigen receptor natural killer cells** is an experimental **cell-based immunotherapy** composed of natural killer cells genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor that recognizes **programmed cell death protein 1** on target cells. In the published preclinical work, the construct was designed to selectively deplete **PD-1-high follicular T-cell populations**, particularly pathogenic follicular helper or related follicular T cells implicated in lupus-like autoimmunity, while largely sparing B cells and PD-1-low T-cell subsets including regulatory T cells. The available evidence indicates this is an **academic preclinical research product** rather than a named commercial drug, with reported activity in vitro and in humanized mouse models of lupus-like disease and no identified commercial developer, brand name, or clinical-stage program.
