Overview
**Progressis** is an inactivated vaccine for pigs (sows and gilts) developed to reduce reproductive disorders caused by Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) virus, specifically European strains, in contaminated environments. It contains inactivated PRRS virus (P120 strain) in an emulsion for injection and works by inducing both cell-mediated immunity (CMI), including interferon-gamma secreting cells, and humoral immunity, such as ELISA and seroneutralizing antibodies, against a broad range of type 1 and type 2 PRRS field strains. The vaccine boosts immunity when used in dual technology prime-boost (DTPB) regimens with live vaccines, reducing early farrowings, stillbirths, and viraemic piglets at weaning; it is safe for use during pregnancy and lactation with no risk of reversion to virulence or virus spread.[1]
