ProHeart is an extended-release injectable veterinary pharmaceutical containing moxidectin, a macrocyclic lactone antiparasitic. It is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by *Dirofilaria immitis* and for the treatment of existing larval and adult hookworm infections (*Ancylostoma caninum* and *Uncinaria stenocephala*) in dogs. The drug is formulated with moxidectin sterile microspheres that slowly release the active ingredient over 6 or 12 months, providing long-lasting protection. It is administered subcutaneously by a veterinarian.
