Overview

Project 2025.1 is a preclinical-stage small molecule agonist of the cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) being developed by ValiRx in collaboration with Altus Formulation. The project is part of ValiRx's evaluation pipeline, focusing on the therapeutic potential of CB2 activation in oncology. CB2 receptors are primarily expressed on immune cells and have been found to be upregulated in various cancer types; their activation is hypothesized to modulate immune responses within the tumor microenvironment and potentially exert direct anti-tumor effects. The candidate is currently in the early evaluation phase to assess its potential for progression into formal preclinical development.
