Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Project 5 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor targeting Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), developed by Chongqing Pharmaceutical (specifically the Chongqing Pharmaceutical Research Institute). Unlike the widely used monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitors, this asset utilizes a small molecule modality to block the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway. By inhibiting the interaction between PD-L1 on tumor cells and PD-1 on T-cells, the drug is intended to prevent immune evasion and restore the body's natural anti-tumor immune response. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of various cancers and solid tumors.
