Overview
Project M is a complex generic peptide injectable currently under development by Rio Biopharmaceuticals in collaboration with Rio Biofarma Brasil Ltda. It is designed as a Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes. As part of Rio Biopharmaceuticals' pipeline of complex generic (ANDA) products, Project M is a peptide-based therapeutic that mimics the action of endogenous GLP-1 to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppress glucagon release, and slow gastric emptying. The drug is currently in Phase 3 clinical development, positioned as a bioequivalent alternative to an established GLP-1R injectable therapy.
