Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prolac-T is a postbiotic product developed by Cell Biotech International, comprising heat-killed (thermally inactivated) Lactobacillus acidophilus CBT-LA1 cells and their metabolites. It functions as a non-viable bacterial preparation that combines parabiotic effects from the cell structures with postbiotic effects from the metabolites. Prolac-T exhibits bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties against various diarrheal pathogens and has the capacity to directly remove Gram-negative bacteria and neutralize their toxic lipopolysaccharides (LPS), which are known triggers for inflammation and oxidative stress. Additionally, research indicates potential hypocholesterolemic effects. It is primarily utilized as an ingredient in gut health dietary supplements and probiotic formulations, often in combination with live probiotics protected by patented coating technologies.
