Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProLNG-001 is a positively charged liposomal formulation of a cholesterol-conjugated form of resiquimod (R848), known as ProLNG-S. It acts as an agonist for Toll-like receptor 7 and 8 (TLR7/8) and is designed to function as an immunomodulatory adjuvant, particularly in cancer vaccine applications. By targeting secondary lymphoid organs, ProLNG-001 enhances both innate and adaptive immune responses—especially Th1-type immunity—leading to robust systemic anti-tumor effects and tumor-specific T cell activation. In preclinical models, co-administration with antigens such as ovalbumin has demonstrated improved anti-tumor efficacy compared to standard adjuvants like AS01, resulting in delayed tumor progression and increased survival. The drug induces proinflammatory cytokine production by dendritic cells and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells[1][2][4].
