Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prolox-DS is an alcohol-free topical hair regrowth treatment developed and marketed by Percos India. It is formulated as a 10% topical solution containing minoxidil as its active pharmaceutical ingredient, enriched with 2% Procapil (a cosmetic blend of biotinyl tripeptide-1, apigenin, and oleanolic acid). Minoxidil acts as a potassium channel opener and vasodilator, expanding blood vessels in the scalp to increase blood flow, oxygen, and nutrient delivery to hair follicles. This action prolongs the anagen (growth) phase of hair and prevents follicle cell death. Prolox-DS is primarily indicated for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (hereditary hair loss or male pattern baldness) in adults.
