Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prolox-F Solution is a topical combination therapy developed by Percos India Pvt Ltd for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss). It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: minoxidil (5% w/v) and finasteride (0.1% w/v). Minoxidil acts as a vasodilator and potassium channel opener that improves blood flow, oxygen, and nutrient delivery to hair follicles, thereby stimulating hair growth. Finasteride serves as a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone primarily responsible for hair follicle miniaturization in androgenetic alopecia. This dual-action approach aims to prevent further hair thinning and promote regrowth when applied topically to the scalp.
