Propolis-based topical solution is a natural therapeutic formulation derived from bee propolis, currently being evaluated for its efficacy in promoting soft-tissue healing and reducing pain following tooth extraction. Developed by researchers at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, the solution leverages the complex bioactive profile of propolis—which includes flavonoids, phenolic acids, and esters—to exert anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant effects. In clinical pilot studies, the solution is applied topically to the extraction socket to accelerate tissue repair and improve patient comfort during the postoperative period.
