Propolis-University of Guadalajara refers to a specific natural resinous substance produced by honeybees that was investigated by researchers at the University of Guadalajara for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Composed of a complex mixture of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids and polyphenols, this botanical supplement was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Administered orally at a dose of 300 mg twice daily for 12 weeks, it demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing fasting plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in treatment-naïve patients.
