propranolol + proton-pump inhibitor

This is a combination of propranolol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist (beta blocker), and a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI), which is a class of drugs that suppress gastric acid secretion. Propranolol is primarily used to treat hypertension, arrhythmias, angina pectoris, migraine prophylaxis, and other cardiovascular conditions by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart and vasculature[6]. Proton-pump inhibitors such as omeprazole, pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, or esomeprazole are used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and related acid-related disorders by irreversibly inhibiting the H+,K+-ATPase enzyme system on gastric parietal cells[4][8][9][10]. This combination may be prescribed when both cardiovascular management with propranolol and acid suppression with a PPI are required.
