ProRoot MTA is a dental root repair material composed primarily of mineral trioxide aggregate. It is designed to seal pathways between the root canal system and surrounding tissues, significantly reducing bacterial migration and promoting healing. The material sets in the presence of moisture due to its hydrophilic properties, forming a strong impermeable barrier that supports tissue regeneration and stimulates new cementum formation over the restored interface. Its high biocompatibility makes it suitable for various endodontic procedures including apexification (apical plug), repair of root perforations during root canal therapy, treatment of internal resorption, as a root-end filling material, direct pulp capping agent, and pulpotomy in pediatric patients. It is antimicrobial but non-toxic to human cells and exhibits low solubility with high radiopacity[1][2][4][5][6][8][10].
