Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProShield Mask Spray is a pathogen-capture surface coating developed by Aquila Bioscience to enhance the protective capabilities of face masks against airborne bioparticles. Utilizing proprietary glycoscience-based Pathogen Capture Technology (PCT), the spray applies a layer of specific carbohydrates to the mask's surface. These carbohydrates mimic the natural receptors found on human cells, effectively 'decoying' and binding to the surface proteins (lectins) of various pathogens, including viruses and bacteria. Once captured, the pathogens are neutralized on the mask surface, reducing the risk of inhalation and subsequent respiratory infection. The formulation is designed to be non-toxic and safe for regular use, providing a physical rather than chemical barrier to infection.
