Overview
Prospidium chloride (also known as Prospidine) is a small molecule alkylating agent belonging to the dispirotripiperazine class. Developed and manufactured by UNITEHPROM BSU in Belarus, it exhibits cytostatic, anti-inflammatory, and immunosuppressive properties. Its mechanism of action involves the alkylation of DNA, which inhibits T and B cell mitogenesis and reduces tumor volume. Historically used in the Soviet Union and currently in the CIS region, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of refractory rheumatoid arthritis and various malignancies. UNITEHPROM produces it as a pharmaceutical substance (API) for the manufacture of finished dosage forms, including the experimental bioabsorbable gel formulation known as Prospidelong.
