This is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of three components: prostate-specific antigen (PSA), interleukin-2 (IL-2), and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). The combination is designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack prostate cancer cells expressing PSA. IL-2 acts as a T-cell growth factor, enhancing the proliferation and activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes, while GM-CSF recruits and activates dendritic cells to improve antigen presentation. This multi-component immunotherapy aims to induce a robust anti-tumor immune response in patients with recurrent or advanced prostate cancer[1][2]. Early-phase clinical trials have shown increased PSA-specific T cell responses and some evidence of disease stabilization.
