Proteflazid

Proteflazid is a direct-acting antiviral herbal extract developed by Ecopharm. It is derived from wild cereals *Deschampsia caespitosa L.* (tufted hair grass) and *Calamagrostis epigeios L.* (bush grass) and contains flavonoid glycosides as its active components. The drug exerts its antiviral effect by inhibiting viral DNA polymerase and thymidine kinase, which are essential for the replication of both DNA and RNA viruses. Additionally, Proteflazid induces the synthesis of endogenous alpha- and gamma-interferons to physiologically active levels, thereby enhancing the host's non-specific immune response. It is indicated for a broad spectrum of viral infections, including herpes simplex virus (types 1-5), human papillomavirus (including oncogenic strains), hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, influenza, and coronavirus (COVID-19). Formulated as oral drops, it has been approved for clinical use in Ukraine and other regions for patients of all ages, including newborns.
