Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProteiOS is an allograft-derived orthobiologic developed by ISTO Biologics, designed to facilitate bone formation and remodeling in spinal fusion and other orthopedic procedures. It consists of a naturally derived concentrate of nearly 1,000 unique proteins, growth factors, and peptides, including bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). The product is processed through proprietary methods to remove cellular and self-identifying antigens and is terminally sterilized via gamma irradiation. Clinical data suggests ProteiOS provides superior fusion rates compared to autograft and other advanced orthobiologics like rhBMP-2 (Infuse) and OsteoAMP.
