Overview
Protexin Balance is a multi-strain probiotic dietary supplement that also contains a prebiotic. It is composed of seven strains of beneficial bacteria: *Lactobacillus casei*, *Lactobacillus rhamnosus*, *Streptococcus thermophilus*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Bifidobacterium breve*, *Bifidobacterium longum*, and *Lactobacillus bulgaricus*, along with fructooligosaccharide (FOS). Manufactured by Protexin (part of ADM), the product is intended to support digestive and immune system health by restoring and maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal flora. [1, 2, 3] Clinical studies and general use suggest its potential benefits for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), diarrhea, and digestive upset following antibiotic use or stress.
