Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) is a plasma-derived biologic containing the vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II (prothrombin), VII, IX, and X. Developed by Shanghai RAAS Blood Products and branded as PROTHORAAS, it is used for the rapid reversal of hemorrhage induced by coumarin-type anticoagulants, the treatment of bleeding in Hemophilia A patients with Factor VIII inhibitors, and the pre-surgical management of prolonged prothrombin time. By replenishing these essential clotting factors, PCC restores the coagulation cascade's ability to generate thrombin and achieve hemostasis. It is administered intravenously as a reconstituted freeze-dried powder and is approved for marketing in China.
