Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Protinace (also marketed as Protinace 98) is a commercial medical nutrition therapy formulation developed by Mylin Holdings (Mylin Biotech India). It is specifically designed as a high-quality protein supplement for critically ill patients, particularly those in intensive care units (ICU). The product is a multi-ingredient nutraceutical containing 100% whey protein with a high Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS > 1), the proteolytic enzyme protease (4.55 million USP units), 13 vitamins, 15 micro and macro nutrients, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) from coconut oil, and flax seed. Protinace is intended for oral consumption or enteral administration via Rhyles or jejunum tubes to support recovery and manage systemic inflammation, as indicated by its ability to reduce high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) levels.
