Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Protivity is a modified-live bacterial vaccine developed by Zoetis for the protection of healthy beef and dairy calves against respiratory disease caused by *Mycoplasma bovis*. It is the first modified-live vaccine specifically developed for this pathogen, which is a significant contributor to the Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) complex. The vaccine contains an avirulent live culture of *M. bovis* and is administered subcutaneously in two doses, 21 days apart. It is approved for use in calves as young as one week of age. Clinical efficacy studies have shown that Protivity reduces lung lesions by 43.6% compared to control groups.
