Protselan

Protselan is a multi-component topical ointment developed by the Research Institute for Physical Chemical Problems of the Belarusian State University. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of infected wounds, burns, and various dermatological conditions that require a combination of antimicrobial action, local anesthesia, and tissue regeneration. The drug's formulation typically includes dioxidine (a broad-spectrum quinoxaline-derivative antibacterial agent), trimecaine (a local anesthetic), and methyluracil (a pyrimidine derivative that stimulates cellular repair). Protselan is particularly effective during the first phase of the wound healing process, where it provides bactericidal activity against aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, reduces inflammatory edema, and alleviates local pain while preparing the wound bed for granulation.
