Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Provag is an oral probiotic supplement developed by IBSS Biomed (Biomed Lublin) designed to support and restore the natural vaginal microflora. It contains a proprietary combination of three live strains of lactic acid bacteria: *Lactobacillus gasseri* 59N, *Lactobacillus fermentum* 57L, and *Lactobacillus plantarum* 57B. These strains were isolated from the Polish population and selected for their ability to colonize the vaginal and intestinal tracts, produce lactic acid, and inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. It is typically used as a dietary supplement or food for special medical purposes (FFSMP) in conditions such as recurrent urogenital infections, during and after antibiotic or antifungal therapy, and to maintain physiological vaginal pH.
