Overview
**Provase** is an over-the-counter topical skin moisturizer and itch-relief product developed and manufactured by Swiss-American Products. It contains 2% dimethicone, a silicone skin protectant and emollient, together with a proprietary blend of endopeptidase enzymes. The dimethicone component forms a protective, moisture-retaining barrier on irritated skin, while the enzyme blend was intended to support epidermal remodeling and reduce localized inflammation-associated itching. Provase was evaluated in a completed Phase 4 randomized study in people with post-burn pruritus and was also promoted for dry, irritated skin.
