Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Providac** is an oral probiotic product developed by Zydus containing the defined live bacterial strains *Lactobacillus acidophilus* LA-5 and *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis* BB-12. It is intended to replenish beneficial intestinal microorganisms and support restoration of gut-microbiome balance disrupted by antibiotic exposure. Providac was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicenter study in Indian adults receiving oral antibiotics for prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
