Overview

Proxazole is a small molecule described as a spasmolytic papaverine-like agent. It has been studied for its effects on blood flow, particularly increasing cerebral blood flow. Clinical investigations explored its potential in conditions such as cerebrovascular insufficiency, labor, obliterating arteriopathy of the lower limbs, EPH-gestosis, and acute renal insufficiency. However, studies in chronic renal failure indicated that proxazole was ineffective in improving renal function.
