proximod

Proximod is a selective agonist of the sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor-1 (S1PR1), developed as an oral small molecule immunomodulator. Its mechanism of action involves redirecting lymphocytes from the circulation to secondary lymph nodes, thereby reducing their presence in peripheral blood and modulating immune responses. Proximod was designed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, with rheumatoid arthritis being its primary indication in clinical development. It is structurally and mechanistically similar to fingolimod (FTY720), another S1PR1 agonist, but represents a novel agent within this class[2][3][4][7].
